Consumer Directed Services (CDS)
HRA offers the following unique services throughout the state of Texas.
Consumer Directed Services (CDS) is the result of Senate Bill 1586, passed by the76th Texas Legislature to provide a 'voucher payment option' for consumers of home & community-based programs. The program empowers consumers to make personal decisions related to the delivery of Personal Assistance Services and Respite Services within his or her current home. CDS (formerly the VFI Option) is available to participants in the Consumer Managed Personal Assistance Service (CMPAS), Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS), and Deaf-Blind Multiple Disabilities (DBMD). Referrals are received through the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services.
CDS gives you the ABILITY to exercise your CHOICE & CONTROL in the SELECTION & MANAGEMENT of your PERSONAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES, Habilitation Services and your IN-Home and Out-of Home RESPITE SERVICES.
Make an Informed Decision: Be informed about the requirements of Consumer Directed Services (CDS). Know what responsibilities you will have. Your case manager can provide information about the program. Notify Your Case Manager: After you receive an overview of CDS from your case manager, your Case Manager will document your decision. If you choose to enroll in CDS, you will receive a list of agencies that are contracted with DADS to provide CDS services. From the list, you will choose a CDS Agency (CDSA) to administer payroll for your employees and vendors. Contact us for more information: Phone: Fax: (817) 469-1977 (817) 461-2334 (866) 471-9999 |
